Reissue on gram vinyl with the cover art that was used for the CD version of this album. Comes with cardboard insert. Advertised as "brown with red splatter" wheras the end result is maroon vinyl with red splatter/5(9).

Their new album, Harnessing Ruin, is an amalgamation of the band's previous efforts, only with bigger desolate atmosphere and darker songwriting. The songs are still as chaotic as ever focusing on killer guitar work that pulls at the heart strings. If you've never heard Immolation before, start right here/5(26).

Not quite Close to a World Below, but Harnessing Ruin is a mighty fine piece of death metal on its own and is definitely not deserving of its relatively cold acceptance among the Immolation fanbase, even despite featuring some minor deviations from the standard Immolation formula.

'Harnessing Ruin' is probably the best definition of post millennial death metal; cleverly structured solos overlapped with complex riff combined with barbaric drumming have made this particular song the brains of it all that hold the album together. The rest are just magnificent to even mention.
